TRE in Bend, Oregon & Online

A body-led practice for releasing tension and supporting nervous-system regulation, offering rest, balance, and reconnection. TRE uses gentle movements to invite the body's natural tremoring response, creating space to soften accumulated tension, settle, and reconnect with yourself.

Sometimes the body needs more than words, a safe space to move, tremor, and gently let go.

TRE®, Tension, Stress & Trauma Releasing Exercises, is a body-based practice developed by Dr. David Berceli. It uses a sequence of accessible movements to gently activate the body’s natural tremoring response.

Tremoring is an involuntary response that can occur following exertion, excitement, stress, or intense experiences. In TRE®, this response is approached intentionally and gradually, with attention to safety, choice, and your individual capacity.

The purpose is not to force an emotional release or revisit difficult experiences. You remain present and in control while learning how to slow, pause, or stop the tremoring whenever needed.

TRE® is now practiced internationally as an educational and experiential approach to supporting relaxation, body awareness, and self-regulation.

What to Expect

Your first session begins with a conversation about your needs, relevant health considerations, and what will help you feel supported.

I will then guide you through a sequence of gentle movements that prepare the body for tremoring. Once the tremors begin, we work slowly so you can become familiar with the sensations and learn how to regulate their intensity.

You remain in control throughout the practice. You may change position, pause, rest, or stop at any time. The session closes with grounding, quiet rest, and time to notice how you feel. TRE sessions are available in person in Bend, Oregon, as well as online for those joining from other locations.

You may experience:

• Gentle shaking, vibration, or spontaneous movement
• A softening of muscular tension
• Deep rest or relaxation
• Greater awareness of physical sensations
• A sense of feeling grounded or present
• Emotional movement or release
• Increased connection with your body

Every person, and every session, is different. There is no particular response you need to achieve.

How TRE Complements Breathwork
__

TRE and breathwork are distinct practices, but both invite a deeper relationship with the body.

Breathwork uses conscious breathing patterns to influence energy, awareness, and nervous-system state. TRE works through gentle movement and the body’s natural tremoring response.

TRE may be experienced as a stand-alone practice or, when appropriate, thoughtfully incorporated into a broader process of breathwork and integration.

Common Questions

What does the tremoring feel like?

The experience varies. Tremors may feel like gentle vibrations, shaking, pulsing, stretching , or spontaneous movement. They may remain primarily in the legs and hips or gradually move into other areas of the body.

Do I need to talk about past experiences?

No. TRE does not require you to describe, analyze, or relive past experiences. The practice focuses on present-moment body sensations and your capacity to remain comfortable and connected.

You are always welcome to share what you notice, but you will never be pressured to disclose personal information.

TRE® is an educational and experiential wellness practice. It is not psychotherapy, medical treatment, or a substitute for care from a qualified healthcare or mental-health professional. Individual experiences vary, and no particular physical or emotional outcome can be guaranteed.
